Betsey Stoughton

Betsey Stoughton born 18th Nov 1825 in Franklin, New York.  Daughter of *Joseph Stoughton and Emily Beaman.  She married Henry Rodgers Holland 1843 in St. Lawrence co., New York.  Died 1st of May 1874 in Watervliet, Berrien co., Michigan.

  1. Henry Edward b. 1846, who is in mining in Arizona
  2. Rosana b. 1848, m. Capt. Berridge and died before mom's passing
  3. Emma Emily b. 1853, m. G.W. Tyler of Illinois
  4. Elias Roger  b. 1855, resident of S. Dakota
  5. Frederick William  b. 1859, who is mining in Nevada
  6. Christian Christopher Franklin  b. 1862, an attorney in San Diego, CA
  7. Charles Elias  b. 1865, resident of Nebraska
  8. William who died at 20months old in Watervliet, Michigan
  9. Infant who died as baby.
  10. Kitty Holland b. 1868.

Upon moving west, the came to Chicago, via canal and lake, and spent two years in the Garden city of the West.  In the spring of 1846 they came to Michigan and settled in Watervliet.
